The dance studio was originally established under the name 'The Little Ballet Company'  

(LBC Dance Studio) in 2014. Within a short period, the studio grew substantially,

offering several professional dance classes to students of all skill levels, with the

focus set on the school's core values of inclusiveness, kindness, positivity, and mutual

respect. The dance studio offers classes to students of all abilities and levels, with classes

taught in a supportive, positive, and non-competitive environment.

In 2021 LBC Dance Studio merged with Centre Stage Dance Studios, combining both

schools into one Studio in 2022 with Sabine Zavari as the principal.

Both schools are now established under the new name 'Unity Performing Arts Studio'.

Whilst our school has grown, we stay true to our original core values. We still like to keep

our class sizes small to allow students to have individual attention, to allow our

teachers to get to know each student, and to tailor the way we teach them so they have the best opportunity to thrive. We are

dedicated to creating a supportive learning environment where every child shines.  We ensure that themes, costumes, and music match a child's world of experience and interests. All our themes, costumes, and music choices are child-appropriate, and we love our students to be natural and not masked with an overload of makeup. Our philosophy of patience, kindness, and positivity encourages our students and gives them a great sense of accomplishment as they progress. We value the creative input of our students and welcome them to be co-creators.
 

Whilst Unity Performing Arts Studio offers a variety of different dance classes, the school maintains a strong focus on Classical Ballet.

 

Unity Performing Arts Studio is the only school in Cairns offering ballet classes in the worldwide renowned Russian Vaganova style (Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus). The Vaganova method is acknowledged worldwide as the foremost training program for classical ballet and is the style taught at most professional dance academies all over the world. In addition to our classical ballet classes, we offer classes in character dance as well as classical repertoire. ​

Unity Performing Arts Studio offers a home to students who have a love for the Performing Arts, from dancing to singing, drama, and music. Along with our dance classes, students also have the opportunity to take private singing and instrumental lessons, all on the premises of our dance studio. 

Each year, children are invited to participate in our end-of-year concert. Our dance concerts are a fun and exciting experience for our students, providing your child with the opportunity to explore all the creative and exciting aspects, that come along with performing in a professional production on stage. They are a beautiful and joyful celebration of our young dancers.

I strongly believe in the magic of dance and its benefits for one's social, emotional, and physical well-being: Dance lets you travel through beautiful stories and worlds, it connects people, it inspires, it strengthens children's self-confidence, promotes positive self-esteem, and simply makes one happy, if taught and learned through the love and passion for dance, in a fun and non-competitive environment.
