Our Classical Ballet program for children from about 5 years of age is based on the worldwide renowned Vaganova Classical Ballet Training Program. It follows the syllabus of the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. The Vaganova method is acknowledged worldwide as the foremost training program for classical ballet and is the dance style taught at most professional dance academies all over the world.

Students are more than welcome to attend ballet classes for just recreational purposes or can choose to participate in ballet exams, held locally in Cairns by the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. 

Our Ballet Classes are taught exclusively by professional teachers, who are registered teachers with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. All classes focus on developing correct and strong technique, artistic expression, and those beautiful, elegant, and artistic lines, that are so unique to Classical Ballet. This is why at Unity Performing Arts Studio we teach the Russian Vaganova style of Classical Ballet, as it is this style that holistically unites correct technique, strength, lightness, elegance, and artistic expression. 

All classes allow for individual attention, and we always make sure that classes are held in a nurturing, welcoming, and inspiring manner. Especially for the younger age groups, we incorporate a variety of imagery, and story dancing to make the learning of Ballet technique, fun, age-appropriate, and supportive. At Unity Performing Arts Studio, we value our student's ideas and they are always encouraged to explore their own creativity in class.
